Holiday Gift Guide

It’s that time of year again!

The time of year where the weather cools down, things start to get a little festive, and we start thinking about what to get people for Christmas presents. Well, I’m here to make it all a wee bit easier for you! Instead of going to the mall or your favourite local retail store, I encourage you to shop local this year.

Now, where to begin? Don’t worry, I’ve got a few ideas for you.

1. Something For Her

There are so many different options for that special woman in your life! Limb Handmade is a great choice right off the bat. Homemade soaps, salts, masks, and serums are their specialty. They also create all natural deodorant and laundry detergent!

Juniper & Jade Design is another great shop to check out if you’re buying for someone who loves pretty things! Their STUNNING handmade, small batch earrings will make you feel your very best, and with so many beautiful styles to choose from, I’m sure you will find what you’re looking for.

Looking for things besides earrings and soaps? Nefarious Clothing has got you covered. Literally. With their amazing selection of different kimonos, ponchos, and scarves, whoever you’re shopping for will be bundled up all season long.

2. Something For Him

The men in your life may be a lot harder to shop for, but there are still a few options!

E Squared Design Co. creates the very best handmade wooden signs, boxes, and decor items. Get your hands on a “Dad’s Survival Kit” tray. Cute, funny, and very practical! Perfect for having beside him in the man cave when his team is losing.

If the son, brother, husband, or dad in your life needs help grooming his facial hair, look no further than Bearded Nomad. Beard wax, beard balm, AND beard oil - with so many different scents to choose from.

Lastly, you can never go wrong with a simple gift card. Get that man a free barbecue dinner from Smoke and Moonshine and call it a day. I’m sure he’ll be overjoyed.

3. Something For The Littles

If your little ones are running out of clothes that fit, a brand new outfit from Koala Bebe Co. would make the perfect gift! Modern styles, and a variety of colours and sizes? You can’t go wrong.

If what you need for your little babe are all the essentials, head over to Three Bees Baby. You’ll find everything from teethers to dinnerware.

Still looking for something a little different? No problem! Check out Discovery Toys. Perfect for babies, toddlers, and kids of any age! Who knew educational toys can still be so much fun.

4. Something For The Pets

Now, we’ve pretty much covered everyone in the family, but we can’t forget about the fur babies. Whether you’ve just become a dog owner or have had a canine in the house for as long as you can remember, those furry friends deserve gifts too!

Two Dapper Pupz has the best selection of dog collars and leashes! They also carry a wide variety of puppy apparel including bow ties and bandanas.

Discover Little Chief & Co. for even more apparel options, as well as a HUGE selection of different toys! This small shop also carries supplements for your pet - what DON’T they have!? In addition to all this, they even have multiple cat products, so if you’re less of a dog person, you can still buy your pet the very best.

If your dog is already pretty much the biggest fashionista on the block but there’s still something missing, try heading over to The Stamped Paw! A uniquely designed, handmade collar tag is sure to tie their whole look together. With different patterns and fonts to choose from, your pet’s name has never looked better.

5. Something For The Home

Last but certainly not least, are gift ideas for the home! Do you have someone on your shopping list whose walls or shelves are looking a little bare these days? Or maybe they just love home decor in general? Well, there’s always something for them, too.

Elmrose creates beautiful items from various remnants and secondhand fabrics. How amazing is that!? Her homemade pumpkins and “frosty friends” are exactly what every home needs this holiday season.

Not only can a house look great, it can smell great too! Gift someone on your list (and yourself!) a candle from Four Wishes and you will not be sorry. With different sizes and burn times, each hand-poured candle is unique. There are also a variety of scents to choose from - my favourite being Lavender Dream. If “pretty” was a scent, that’s what it would be!

Are you shopping for someone who appreciates art? Look no further than Oh Honey. They offer the most beautiful, hand drawn silhouettes. These masterpieces make the perfect keepsakes to have inside your home! Silhouettes of babies, animals, ultrasounds - you name it. You’ll want a few pieces for your friends, and a whole bunch for yourself.

And there you have it - just a handful of different gift ideas for all the people on your list this Christmas. I hope this took some of the pressure of finding the perfect gift off your back!

Shop local. Support local. Discover local.

Until next time,

Emily
