Niagara Family Photographer | Beach Mini Sessions

“…and at the end of the day, your feet should be dirty, your hair messy, and your eyes sparkling.” - Shanti

This proved to be the case for me after I wrapped up a couple days of Beach Mini Sessions in Niagara back in August. My feet (and knees and elbows and hands) were beyond filthy, the humidity got my hair looking worse than Monica from Friends, and I was just in awe of the beautiful families that allowed me to capture their special moments.

That’s what it’s all about for me. I call myself an ‘adventurous photographer’, and to me that means appreciating the sand that’s made its way into every crevice because I was laying down to capture your children playing. It means appreciating the rugged trek to the private spot on the beach, even if I got stung by a bee because I was drinking a Gatorade. It means accepting that I’m not going to look like how I did at the beginning of the day and being perfectly okay with that.

Adventure and candid photography go hand in hand. You never know what’s going to happen on an adventure. It’s spontaneous, not planned. The same goes for candid images. The less you worry about posing everyone, the more beautiful moments you will have captured. The moments captured in between moments.

Scroll through to see all the wonderful families I was able to photograph at the beach. And never lose your sense of adventure.
